Below is a list of the questions our customers raise most often. If you cannot find the answer to your query there please use the form on the Contact Us page to get in touch with us. QUESTIONS How do I choose a domain name? Can people book my property via my website? ANSWERS How do I choose a domain name? For their domain name (website name) most owners use the name of their property + .co.uk
for example www.lesclochettes.co.uk. We will find
out if that name is available and if it happens not to be available, we will suggest alternatives that are.
How do I send details of my property to Holiday Homes Online?
Can my website have more than 6 pages?
What happens if I need to make changes to my website eg alter the charges? We are willing to make small changes to your website free of charge. You simply have to inform us by email of the alterations you wish to make. We will also carry out a more extensive revamp at renewal. At other times, re-drafting of whole pages or replacing photographs may incur a charge if requests are frequent and involve a lot of work.
In order to function as intended and to be accessible to Internet browsers the
files which make up a website need to be uploaded to a special type of computer
known as a server. Companies which provide server facilities with the necessary
software charge a fee for the rental of the space needed for the website on
their computers and the maintenance of the website files. This is known as
"hosting."
I already have a domain name for my property. Can I transfer it to Holiday Homes Online? Yes, it is possible to transfer a domain name to another website. Let us know if you wish to do this and we can organise it for you.
My holiday property is registered with a number of letting agencies. Why do I need a website as well? Many lettings agencies now offer to include a link to owners' websites on the page advertising the property. This gives the potential customer the opportunity to access more information about the property. A personal website also makes your property available to everyone browsing the net - not just those specifically looking at agencies. If you include a link to the agency on your site, the customer can book the property via the agency (Holiday Homes Online does not handle bookings). In other words, your personal website is a perfect complement to your entry on your agency's website and means the chances of your property being discovered (and rented!) are vastly increased. Can people book my property via my website? Holiday Homes Online does not handle property bookings itself. To rent your property customers can either contact you direct (via the email link which we provide on your website) or can go straight through to any online letting agency with which your property is registered, provided you give us the relevant details.
I have several rental properties and would like a website that encompasses all of them. Is that possible? With Holiday Homes Online, each property has its own individual website. However for multiple property owners we offer a special package which consists of a Home Page with links to the websites of each property. We do not charge extra for the Home Page as this set-up requires the purchase of only one domain name. Thus if you have 2 properties to rent, the cost will be £98 p.a. 3 properties will be £147 etc. These prices still compare very favourably with most tailor-made website design services. If your holiday home is essentially one property but consists of multiple rentals of a similar nature eg. 2 apartments in the same block, it may be possible to incorporate both in one website. Contact us for further information about this option.
